Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka has claimed that the Gunners can catch runaway leaders, Manchester City in the Premier League title race (via The Independent).
Things are rarely certain in football, especially in the Premier League. However, this season is looking like an exception.
Manchester City have one of the best squads ever assembled and are storming the league with 34 points from a possible 36.
They beat Arsenal 3-1 just a few weeks ago but one Gunners player thinks that Pep Guardiola’s men can be caught, despite being 12 points clear.
“I think in football everything is possible,” Granit Xhaka told Sky Sports News.

“Manchester City, at the moment, are on a very good run, they’re doing very well and others have dropped points – which they haven’t done – but it’s conceivable that they could drop points as well.
“They might not continue as they have been. But our aim is just to focus on ourselves. We know we need to work and we’re convinced that we can compete at the top.
“I’m a person who thinks realistically but has dreams and fantasies as well. In football, everything is always possible.”
It’s not completely out of the question that Manchester City could drop points in the coming months. They could suffer from injuries or fatigue or just fail to gel on the pitch. However unlikely it seems, Arsenal and the rest of the chasing pack just need to focus on winning their own matches and see what happens.
