Granit Xhaka has seemingly been as good as an Arsenal player for quite some time now, and the Daily Mail now claim the 23-year-old has flown into London to undergo a medical at London Colney.
The Borussia Monchengladbach star has been repeatedly linked with an Arsenal switch after a superb season in Germany, with all signals pointing to an early bit of business from Arsene Wenger. The Mail’s report suggests he’s in London for a medical, but it’s unclear how concrete that information is.
Other reports have also claimed that Xhaka had flown into London (via The Telegraph), although the Mail are seemingly the only ones suggesting it’s for a medical, and it could just be a case of guesswork from the British tabloid. With all the stories floating around it definitely does seem like the Swiss international has flown into London, but until we get some more concrete reports we can’t know for sure whether or not he’s actually had a medical.
Regardless whether he has had a medical or not, Xhaka looks almost certain to be our first signing of the summer. We can’t count our chickens until we see something on Arsenal.com, but if past experience is anything to go by then all the noise surrounding the Xhaka transfer is a sign that the deal will soon be done.
There’s very rarely this much smoke without fire, and perhaps the only time we’ve seen a player this heavily linked with Arsenal only for it to prove complete nonsense was last season with Karim Benzema, who was pretty much guaranteed by every outlet to make the switch to Arsenal (via The Telegraph).

Hopefully we see Xhaka arrive sooner rather than later, so Arsene Wenger can focus on bringing a striker and potentially a winger to the club too.
