Granit Xhaka has revealed that Arsenal are prioritising the Premier League over the Europa League this season (via The Standard).
It’s tough for every English team right now with all six sides at the top battling in the Premier League and in Europe.
Arsenal are no exception and after playing Watford on Monday night, head to Naples for their Europa League second leg on Thursday.
Arsenal’s aim is to secure Champions League qualification and success in either competition will do that but it seems as if the side has one priority.
“I think we want to stay in the top four — we want to be back in the Champions League,” Granit Xhaka said after the match.

“For me, the Premier League is first and after if you can go to the final and take the Europa League, of course, it is nice as well, but for us it is the Premier League first.
“We are now in fourth place — two points over [Manchester] United, one game less than Chelsea and one point behind Tottenham — and they play against Manchester City this weekend. This can be a big weekend for us.”
It’s good to see Arsenal competing on two fronts as the season draws to the close. That hasn’t been the case for a long time with the Gunners experiencing early exits from the Champions League or the top four race far before this stage in recent years.
